About Me

I support people to dive into the expanse of their creative power and make good medicine of what they find there.  I do this by creating a safe and nurturing environment that enables them to access, explore and intentionally breathe into the spaces within themselves that are ready to be brought into the light, healed, and transformed.  What I love is witnessing the quantum shifts that happen when one shows up for themselves in their authenticity and self-expression.

My background is a compilation of service from my heart.  My path in life has provided me the opportunity to be a healing witness and guide to many populations that have endured deep trauma and significant life transitions.  I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of clinical experience as well as a combat veteran with over 15 years of military service.

Healing in the Military

As part of my time in the military I served as an active-duty clinician and provided mental health support and trainings both stateside and overseas.

  • Guided the healing process for those directly impacted by complex childhood trauma, combat trauma, traumatic loss, and significant life transitions.

  • Assigned as the subject matter expert for sexual assault treatment and response as well as substance abuse treatment on several major military installations.

  • Served on a Navy Mobile Care Team in Afghanistan and provided HeartMath sessions to assist deployed service members in learning stress reduction techniques. During this deployment I also facilitated combat operational stress control training to both US and NATO troops to improve well-being.

  • Adjunct faculty for University of Southern California Master of Social Work: Military and their Families concentration and Navy Mind Body Medicine Stress Resilience Conference faculty.

  • Embedded Social Worker in an Intensive Care Unit for wounded warriors.

Integrative Modalities

I believe that each person’s healing journey is unique.  The healing process can often be enriched and expanded by the integration of conventional clinical treatment modalities, creativity, as well as non-ordinary states of consciousness.  My professional work post-military has included working as a clinician for both the Veterans Administration and the Department of Justice. In both of these settings I have incorporated mind body medicine techniques to healing.

As an earth-based Minister of Walking Prayer as well as an Intentional Creativity Teacher, I assist others in exploring their own spiritual terrain and stand more fully in their authenticity. I am a spiritual mentor and an assistant in several programs that utilize non-ordinary states of consciousness and earth-based ways of healing for personal growth and empowerment.  I teach classes that utilize painting as a portal for healing and transformation.

When I am not counseling, teaching, or creating you can find me embarking on a new adventure, spending time with friends, chasing after my dog, Silver, or enjoying the southern California breeze.
